Guiding is the best organization for girls and women in the world. It is also the largest, with over nine million Members in 145 countries. There are almost 200,000 in Canada alone. We believe that more Canadian girls and women should and could have the opportunity to experience Guiding. The purpose of the Provincial Membership Committee is to strengthen Guiding Membership in BC.

Here's a terrific new tool published by the Membership Committee: the Quick Start Guide for Area Membership Advisers (pdf). This publication has lots of useful information and is an excellent overview of the resources and methods available to AMAs and other Guiding Members interested in "Growing Guiding Membership".

BC's Welcome to Guiding Booklet:

Be sure to check out the new Welcome to Guiding Booklet (pdf). The booklet is primarily for Spark and Brownie girls and their families; however, it could be used for any girl new to Guiding. We encourage you to print copies in black and white to present to your unit as you start up in the fall. There is information about Guiding including our history, getting involved, financial commitments, the branches of Guiding and a section on cookies, and how the sales are also a fun way to encourage learning. Print double-sided and then fold in half. See the Welcome to Guiding Booklet's accompanying Information Sheet for full details.
