Girl Guides of Canada, BC Council,
Wishes You a Happy World Thinking Day!

On February 22 each year, Girl Guides and Girl Scouts the world over celebrate the mutual birthday of Lady Bady-Powell, World Chief Guide, and Lord Baden-Powell, founder of Boy Scouts, by sending greetings to our sisters in Guiding and learning about Guiding around the world. Girl Guides of Canada, BC Council, is pleased to say extend World Thinking Day greetings to our sisters in Guiding here in British Columbia, our nation, Canada, and around the world!

Each year, World Thinking Day is given a theme. 2006's theme was Adolescent Health, a subject that is dear to us all. See below for lots of useful resources, ideas and news.

Here in Canada, one of the ways that we celebrate World Thinking Day is by giving to the Canadian World Friendship Fund. The Canadian World Friendship Fund consists of money raised by all Members of Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada. This money is used for many different worthwhile projects that help Canadian girls and Guiders as well as our sisters in Guiding worldwide. In 2004, BC Guiding Members contributed $34,011.25.

At BC Girl Guides, we are always working to find ways to make our girl and adult volunteers' Guiding experience as easy, productive and fun as possible. See our list below for lots of great Guiding ideas, tools and resources, and remember to visit our website often as we regularly add new items for anyone who's interested in Guiding!
