The Plan
To present our Grow Guiding Garden Market at each of four local trade shows. This was a huge commitment by the Management Team, not only in the planning but in the execution as this took place Friday through Sunday four weekends in a row. Added to this was travel time to outlaying communities.
The Presentation
Slide show to capture people’s attention
Daily draws
Give-aways: bookmarks, tattoos, homemade seed packets
Promotional pamphlets
Goals
To promote Girl Guides of Canada in each of our four districts
Create awareness in the community and to get people excited about the great things that Guiding has to offer
Promote registration of girls and Guiders
To have leaders in place before September 2006
Budget
Budgeted $2144.00 (each District paid 50% of the booth cost). Final total not yet available but we came in under budget.
The Results
More than 1000 people entered our draw. Of those, over 90 indicated that they wished to be contacted to learn more about Girl Guides.
We connected with three Guiders who had moved into our Area and had not yet contacted the District. They all indicated that they would be interested in volunteering. Nine women indicated that they will consider volunteering either as a leader or on council.
Follow Up
The Team, assisted by the Districts, are in the process of contacting the Guiders who moved into the Area; the women who expressed an interest in Guiding and the people who wanted to learn more about Guiding. We are tracking our results and will advise the outcome at a later date.
