Scholarship Updates and Deadlines

Girl Guides of Canada Scholarships

Apply Today! 

Will you be attending university in September 2010? Then why not apply for one of Girl Guides of Canada’s scholarships. These scholarships assist Members with university costs and pursuing their academic and career goals.

There are three national scholarships available:

• Girl Guides of Canada National Scholarship
  • $2,000
  • Available to any GGC registered Member who has been accepted to, or is continuing her education at a Canadian college or university on a full-time basis

• Roberta Bondar Scholarship
  • $2,000
  • Available to any GGC registered Member entering her third, fourth or post-graduate year, studying science, applied science, mathematics or technology

• Karen Ritchie Memorial Scholarship  
  • $2,000
  • Available to a first-year engineering student entering a Canadian university

Go to www.girlguides.ca/scholarships for the scholarship application package. Applications must be received by mail or courier by April 1, 2010.

BURSARY, SCHOLARSHIP AND GRANT DUE DATES

Please Note: With the activities revolving around the Winter Olympics in Vancouver during the month of February, the deadline date for both the Pat Drugge Adult Bursary Fund and the BC Trefoil Guilds Education Grant will be February 1, 2010.

Criteria & Application Forms were sent November 18, 2009

BC Council Bursary and Bursary of Honour                             March 15 each year

BC Council Bursary & Bursary of Honour forms were sent December 4, 2009

Eve Pound Scholarship                                                                 April 15 each year

Margery Dumfries Scholarship                                                     April 15 each year

All applications must be received no later than 5:00 pm on the due date

(If the deadline falls on a weekend, applications will be accepted until 5:00pm on the first business day following that date)  Late Applications will not be accepted
