Area-hosted Camps

An area-hosted camp is one that has support from the BC Camping Committee but is managed and staffed by the area that has chosen to host it. The area Responsible Guider books the site and does the Safe Guide paperwork.

The three camps that we have in this category are: Cupcakes and Candles, Lets Camp S'more and Under the Boughs.

Cupcakes and Candles is a camp for 3rd year Guides and Pathfinders which includes a complete program and crest. We supply the program package and crest. The area books the site, provides the staff and plans the menu and how you will deliver the program. Check out the Cupcakes and Candles Program Information for details.

Let's Camp S'more is for 1st and 2nd year Guides and their Guiders that are new to camping. The area books a campsite for the date set by the BC Camping Committee, usually in later October at various sites around the province. BC Camping Committee sends out the applications through Pipeline in the spring. Your friendly provincial Camp S'more Guiding Diva juggles all the applications, endeavors to place patrols at the campsite they have requested, sends out acceptance letters and then orders the crest and t-shirt or dippy bag for each participant and staff. Your area provides the hostess team and plans the basic camp skills program. After this event, the girls and Guiders just want to camp S'more and S'more and yet S'more!!

Under the Boughs is for Pathfinders and Senior Branches. The area decides what season the girls will pitch their tents in, books the camp and sets the date. Then all the Pathfinders and Senior Branch Girls in your area are invited. Once the applications are all in, the toque order is sent to province and 30 days later this years version is on its way to the Guiders and campers. Check out the Under The Boughs Program Information for details.
