The Book of Honour was created by BC Council Girl Guides of Canada to recognize outstanding BC Guiding Members, both adults and girls, who exemplify the spirit of Guiding through keeping the Promise and Law. It will also help fund the Bursary of Honour which will encourage education/training for Members of Girl Guides of Canada - Guides du Canada at a post-secondary institution.
FORMAT
Each recipient will have a double page in the Book of Honour. The first page will contain her picture, up to 6 inches high by 4 inches wide. The second page will have an outline of the reasons for her inclusion in the Book of Honour. The Nominator will receive a framed certificate, for presentation purposes, indicating the candidate has been honoured by inclusion in the Book of Honour by BC Council. The Book of Honour will be on display in BC Guide House.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for this recognition the Member must be or have been an active Member of Girl Guides of Canada – Guides du Canada in BC and must have demonstrated a commitment to Girl Guides of Canada – Guides du Canada in BC.

GUIDELINES
The application must be presented to the Council concerned for approval and then forwarded to the Provincial Awards Committee. In memoriam applications for a Guider or girl are acceptable. The nominator or a cohort will create an original one-page entry for the Book of Honour on stationary supplied. Possible resources for creating the entry are the candidate’s Member profile and letters of support. For inclusion in the Book of Honour a cheque for $100.00 must accompany the completed application form. The fund will help finance the Book of Honour Bursary.
