Duplicate Book of Honour

ORIGIN OF BOOK OF HONOUR
The Book of Honour was created to recognize outstanding BC Guiders and girls who exemplify the spirit of Guiding through keeping the Promise and Law.

The objectives were twofold:

to create a special, lasting form of recognition of outstanding members throughout the years and

to help fund the Bursary of Honour which will encourage education/training at a post-secondary institution for members of Girl Guides of Canada – Guides du Canada, graduating from grade 12 in a given year.

The cost of inclusion in the Book of Honour is $100.00 and includes a framed certificate for the recipient. It is obtained by checking with your Area Commissioner and Area Awards Chairwoman and then completing the application packet.

DUPLICATE BOOK OF HONOUR
This is a duplicate version of the permanent Book of Honour which is kept on view in a secure case in the lobby of Guide House.

The travelling book is available to be shared throughout the province at Area events, conferences and workshops so that everyone has the opportunity to see the book and may think of someone else who deserves to be included. We will need to know the date of your event so arrangements can be made to send the travelling book to you in time for this occasion.

Maximum borrowing time: 10 days.

The person listed as the “Contact Person” will be the one responsible for the safekeeping of the Duplicate Book of Honour within the Area. This person is also responsible for returning it to Guide House by the stated date.

You can pick up the Duplicate Book of Honour at Guide House or have it sent to your Area by courier, AT YOUR EXPENSE.
