Dancing is a great way for older girls to have fun enjoying Active Living and learn about other cultures and team-work. Instructions are included with more publications. Make sure you know the dance before trying to teach it.
The dances listed have been tested with girls. Some take several times to learn. The easier dances have an asterisk *. Ask your District Commissioner for local Guiders/Trainers/Resource People who are familiar with the dance tapes/books in Guiding.

Other Sources
Older girls may appreciate trying other types of dances such as Greek, Belly Dancing, Country Line-dancing, Celtic, or Jazz. Some of the girls may have the necessary training to teach others. You could also check with parents, other Guiders or your community for resources.
