Why be active?
Being physically active is healthy, giving us:
Healthy bodies
Active living builds a healthy heart, burns excess energy, helps maintain
a healthy weight, and can prevent or delay type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases.
Positive self-esteem
Active living helps children to feel good about themselves, and to try new skills.
Social skills
Active living in a group, provides the chance to make friends, build confidence and learn team-building skills.
Good mental health
Active living can reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
Better grades
Active living can improve memory, creativity and problem-solving
