The Grow Guiding Message: "We're Always Open"

So, by now, most Guiders have heard the term “Grow Guiding”. But really, how important is it? What does it mean and how could it affect me, a Unit Guider, and what role do I play in the whole thing?

Membership Services at National has created an initiative which, over the next year and a half, will help us to re-vitalize our organization. The name given to this initiative is Grow Guiding.

We have an amazing organization and program that has so much to offer the girls and women of today. Our country and our communities need organizations such as ours to help build the citizens of tomorrow. Guiding helps build self-reliant, independent, community-minded young women. We hope that they will be the leaders who build legislation, run businesses, and manage many of the organizations and service agencies that we will rely on. New! The Welcome to Guiding Booklet (pdf). The booklet is primarily for Spark and Brownie girls and their families; however, it could be used for any girl new to Guiding. We encourage you to print copies in black and white to present to your unit as you start up in the fall. There is information about Guiding including our history, getting involved, financial commitments, the branches of Guiding and a section on cookies, and how the sales are also a fun way to encourage learning. See the Welcome to Guiding Booklet's accompanying Information Sheet for full details.

Fun PDF or Word Document Resources for Downloading:

Here's a fun resource for use by BC Members - "Join Us Anytime!" theme and "Girl Guide Cookie" theme greeting cards. Use them for 'bring a friend' events or to say hello to new neighbours, past Members or community partners.

Here's a new way to show your Guiding spirit: return address labels with Guiding images on them. These Word documents use Avery #5160 labels. Guiders can modify labels by adding their own addresses. Available with Grow Guiding or Trefoil images.

Building Tomorrow's Leaders Today flyer - has great photos of girls having fun in Guiding. This flyer is aimed at parents and girls and makes a good poster, handout or for use in 'bring a friend' events.
