TREX

WELCOME TO TREX GIRL GUIDES

Trex is an option for Girl Guide Members. Actually, it's an Extraordinary Option, which will open exciting avenues of adventure and challenge to girls who want to spend their Guiding time enjoying Canada's great outdoors.

Trex isn't for every girl, but it is for any girl who wants to test herself physically, mentally and emotionally, doing things she may not have had the opportunity to try before. "Trex" refers to "treks." A trek is a journey that can be challenging and sometimes even arduous. A Trex Girl Guide is someone who embraces challenging, exciting and bold outdoor adventures. She wants to face physical challenges energetically and fearlessly, as she tests her limits and pushes herself to overcome obstacles and achieve new goals.

Girls in Trex

Trex is about girls. As much as possible, count on letting Trex Girl Guides figure things out for themselves and make their own decisions. The more planning details that can be delegated to them the better. Of course on health, safety or some communal issues, the Guider will need to take the lead.

Meeting time for activity preparation will be active and hands-on, with lots of opportunity for experimentation and comparison of options. Games and simulations will be key tools for learning.

Guiders are there to make Trex a place where girls can acquire self-esteem, self-reliance and independence, while engaging in fun and adventure based on the ideals of Guiding.
