Excerpt from a National Volunteer Week greeting from Judy Maurice, Provincial Commissioner, BC Council (click here for full message)
Volunteers Grow Community is the theme of National Volunteer Week, April 15 to April 21, 2007. This week pays special tribute to Canadian volunteers across the country who give of themselves to better their communities and the lives of others.
As the largest organization for girls and women in Canada, Guiding offers our Members: friendship, fun, adventure and experiences that challenge each of us to grow into the best person that we can be. Volunteer Week is the perfect time to acknowledge that your work as a volunteer is meaningful; that you are truly making a difference, for girls, women and others in our communities.
My Deputies and I would like to thank all of you for the valuable contribution you are making by being a Member of Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada and volunteering your time with us.
