At Hike for Hunger, lots of Guiding and Scouting members came out to enjoy a morning hike and all brought donations for the Surrey Food Bank. We gathered over 7,000 pounds of non-perishable food - equal to an approximate value of $14,000 - that's a lot of groceries! We had party hats, balloons, facepainting & tattoos for all to enjoy. The 50th Sumac Sparks helped everyone sing Happy Birthday to Scouting - it's their 100th Birthday. Hiked around Bear Creek Park - with a stop at the food bank truck to drop off donations. We all had cupcakes and went home before the rain started! Thank you to all the volunteers that helped make the day a success. Click here for pictures.

24 Hour Relay for Life: “Girl Guides of Canada is excited to be a part of the greatest fight humanity is facing today - the fight against cancer.” Our hopes and aspirations for this year’s You Go Girl Team were all achieved. We had 14 Team members participate in this year’s Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life held in Prince George, BC, and our team raised an outstanding $600.00 for the Canadian Cancer Society. WAY TO GO, TEAM!!! Guiders and girls, new and old, registered to take part in BC’s only 24 Hour Relay. The Canadian Cancer Society really needs people like Girl Guides to come together and help them, because without volunteers, pledges and support, there would be nothing for research – nothing to help find a cure. So, thank you to everyone who participated, pledged, helped out, or even just thought warm thoughts as we walked Masich Place Stadium. To see the You Go Girl Team Site – see "You Go Girl"
